Breathe! Always recommended but in photography also very important!
It's all about timing, press the button at the right moment. All your thinking and planning has been done before so now you can switch off the brain and start feeling. Move with your subject, try to feel the rythm. If someone is jumping on a trampoline, follow the motion with your camera, after a while you can anticipate when to press the button. Continuous mode: It's a great way to shoot moving objects, and will get you some great shots. Whilst moving your camera along with your subject, keep pressing the button. Amongst all the shots taken you have a good change of a winner! Shoot wide: You are after a nice tight shot with the full motion in the picture, but it is very wise to give yourself a little leeway, just to avoid extreme disappointment when you end up with the perfect shot of a high jumper only to realize you chopped of the fingers or half the legs. Check your images: There is nothing wrong if halfway through the shoot you just have a look at the LCD screen at the back of your camera, just to see whether you are timing yourself right, you might be thinking you've nailed it only to see you're a split second to soon. Therefore it is also wise to shoot a few images. |
